The Wednesday, September 17 Kenai City Council meeting has a variety of topics to discuss but overall a light agenda.
Kenai Mayor Pat Porter said two ordinances amending city code in regards to shelters and group care facilities may be discussed however Kenai City Manager Rick Koch won’t be available for that discussion.
Porter: “And we just got a brand new public Planning and Zoning Director so we’ll have to see what they have to say about that, ya know it’s whether or not they feel like we should go forward.”
She said she is excited for the Kenai Senior Connection to present their check to the City of Kenai tomorrow evening.
Porter: “The Kenai Senior Connection is a group that, actually their fundraising efforts are all for the Kenai Senior Center. And so this money from the pie auction that was held and they’re going to donate the revenue from that back to the city for the food program. Then we have a couple of different ordinances that are just pretty much house keeping. We did receive a grant in regards to the Kenai Peninsula Borough flood that we had state federal funds and state emergency funds we also have an ordinance that’s going to deal deal with state grant funds for capital improvement at the senior center for there heated sidewalk and boiler system.”
That meeting will be held at 7 pm in the Kenai City Hall.
