The City of Kenai is mulling over the ins and outs of commercial marijuana.
Council member Tim Navarre said he considered a work session on the subject earlier this month a good start.
Navarre: “I still need a lot more information, it’s a good start today, I think the borough’s still looking at it with their task force, so at this point I’m still not sure where I’m going to fall on this issue.”
The City Council is scheduled to take up topics such as creating a local regulatory board and taxes for commercial marijuana sales at their July 1 meeting.
Another discussion will be how to regulate time, place, and manner along with the number of establishments in the City of Kenai.
That meeting will begin at 7:00 am, Wednesday in the Kenai City Hall Chambers.
