At the Kenai City Council meeting Wednesday night the public will be able to testify about some of the Fiscal Year 2015 proposals.

Kenai Mayor Pat Porter went over some of the proposals that may interest the public.

Mayor Porter: “We also have some proposed changes in our budget to reflect different fees we are planning to increase a little bit some would be water and sewer going up less than five dollars a month if you combined the two together. We have some other proposed changes that might be an increase to charge non residents a $20 yearly fee for services of the library, that’s a pretty controversial one so we’ll see how that goes.”

There is also a proposal to increase Kenai Airport short term parking from a $5.00 fee to a $7.00 fee per day.

Mayor Porter said there is also a resolution to switch city employee’s health care provider to Primera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska.

Mayor Porter: “Our rates increased so much with our prior provider that our city administration went out and got different quotes and we were able to come out with a basic savings so that comes out in a positive note for us.”

The meeting will start at 7 pm.
