Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near mile point 22 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski on a 2000 Chevy Silverado that had been reported stolen. According to the online State Trooper Dispatch, it happened on Monday August 30, at 3:05 p.m.

As Troopers attempted to make a stop, the driver accelerated and continued driving at a high rate of speed and crossed into the oncoming lane. The vehicle eventually stopped at the end of the new Kenai Spur Highway extension and the driver reportedly took off on foot.

The driver was identified as 29-year-old Jamie Lee Landt of Kenai, but troopers couldn’t locate Landt, who reportedly had been in contact with her boyfriend, 29-year-old Taylor Wayne McCoy of Kenai. Both were in violation of their conditions of release.

Landt was charged for 1st degree failure to stop for law enforcement officer, 3rd Degree Assault, 2 counts of reckless endangerment, violation of conditions of release (for misdemeanor), and driving with suspended license. McCoy was charged with violating conditions of release (for misdemeanor).

An arrest warrant was requested for both Landt and McCoy.

The vehicle was released back to the unidentified owner.
