Kenai Downs Houston 8-2 In Hockey Regular Season Final

Senior Day for the Kardinal hockey team produced an 8-2 victory, a 2-8 Railbelt Conference final record and a hope for a berth to the Division II state hockey tournament.

 

Kenai recorded two, first period goals; one for Nate Beiser and one for Zach Burnett.  In the second period, Kenai added goals by Tucker Vann, Jacob Begich and Logan Dosko.  Nate Beiser scored his second goal in the third period; Kenai received an own goal and closed the scoring with a Jordan Knudsen goal.  Final Score: Kenai 8 – Housotn 2.

 

The Kardinals finish regular season play with a 2-8 conference record and will wait to see if an At-Large berth to the state tournament is awarded the Kardinals.  Notification of state qualifiers and state tournament brackets may be available late Sunday or Monday morning.
