The Kenai Kardinal hockey team opened a two-game home series against the Kodiak Bears on Friday with an 11-3 victory over the Kodiak Bears at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility.
The Kodiak Bears hockey program enters its second season in the Division II Railbelt Conference, allowed five, first period goals to the Kardinals.
For the contest, Kenai’s Avery Martin and Logam Mese each scored four-goal, hat tricks for the Kardinals. Reagan Graves, Caden Warren and Landen Cialek added single goals for Kenai. Evyn Witt recorded 14 saves for Kenai.
Kenai and Kodiak drop the puck at noon on Saturday on the Kenai Ice.
