An additional emergency order has opened the Kenai, East Forelands, and Kasilof setnetters will fish at 7:00 am Saturday, July 11.

Shields: “Emergency order No. 16 opens set gillnetting in the Kenai, Kasilof, and East Foreland sections of the Upper Subdistrict on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Drift gillnetting will be open in the Expanded Kenai and Expanded Kasilof sections of the Upper Subdistrict on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.”
Shields said Saturday’s opening will allow commercial fisher people to utelize the remainder of their 36 hours for this week.
As for a Sunday opening, Shields said the fishery will likely take a break but that depends on the data.
