The Kenai Fire Department hosted four Kenai High School Juniors for the job shadowing program yesterday.

Fire Chief Jeff Tucker spoke with us about what the students got to experience.

Tucker: “They were fortunate they had the opportunity first thing this morning we did a fire drill over at the new Denaina Wellness Center they got to see that, we actually took two people off the roof of the building with our ladder truck so they got to see that. We did some things with them here around the station and took them out to the airport showed them the airport station and did things there too so they had a real good time.”

Tucker said Brittani Karlarchik, Kylie Hanson, and Ashley Maxson expressed interest in the EMT side of firefighting while exchange student Guillermo Sepulveda-Hurtado of Chile is interested in becoming a firefighter when he returns home.
