The Kenai Kardinal girls soccer team handed the Soldotna Star girls their first loss of the season; the Kardinals winning the Northern Lights Conference soccer championship with a 3-2 victory over #1 seed SoHi.
Lara Crieghton scored the game winner for the Kardinal girls in extra time, after Hannah Drury tied the game for the Kardinals in regulation time.
The Kenai girls, SoHi girls and Colony girls qualify to the state soccer championships.
Boys Championship Game: Colony 4 – Kenai 1
The Colony Knight boys capture the boys championship with a 4-1 victory over the Kenai boys.
Colony scored three, unanswered goals after Austin McKee tied the game at 1-1 for the Kardinals.
Colony, the 2014 state champions, Kenai and Homer will represent the NLC at the soccer state tournament.
