Kenai Girls Win Division II State Track & Field Championship

The Kenai Kardinal girls track team outscored Grace Christian for the 2019 ASAA Division II Girls State Track and Field Championship, lead by three individual state titles and a pair of relay victories.

Kenai Girls State Championships: Saturday

Jaycie Calvert recorded a second state distance event championship winning the 1600M in a personal best time of 5:17.70.

Savanna Wilson topped the field in the 100M hurdles with a time of 16.88 for the state title.

Chelsea Plagge won the triple jump with a jump of 32′ 8″

The Kenai 4X100M relay and 4X200M relay both claimed state championships featuring: Savanna Wilson, Kylie-Anne Raye, Chelsea Plagge and Hayley Maw

Kenai Girls Top 8 Performances: Saturday

Hayley Maw performed well in the sprints with a third in the 100M and a fourth in the 200M

Jaycie Calvert and Brooke Satathite finished third and eighth in the girls 800M

Brooke Satathite placed fifth in the 1600M

Katie Stockton placed fourth and Savanna Wilson eighth in the 300M hurdles

Katie Stockton also placed seventh in the 100M hurdles

Kenai’s 4X800M relay placed second with Leah Fallon, Summer Foster, Lydia Marlow and Brooke Satathite.

Kenai’s 4X400M relay placed fourth with Brooke Satathite, Brooke Ashley, Jaycie Calvert and Logan Satathite

Maison Dunham raced to the state title in the boys 800M in a season best 2:00.88

Jarett Wilson posted a personal best 16.11 for the championship in the 100M hurdles

Kenai Boys Top 8 Performances: Saturday

Jarett Wilson placed third in the 300M hurdles

Andrew Carver placed third in the discus with a personal best 126′ 5″

 

Nikiski Girls Top 8 Performances: Saturday

Kaitlyn Johnson placed second in the girls discus with a personal best 123′ 5″

Nikiski girls placed second in the 4X200M relay featuring: Bailey Epperheimer, Sidney Epperheimer, Shylea Freeman and Destiny Martin; and seventh in the 4X100M relay with Bailey Epperheimer, Sidney Epperheimer, Shylea Freeman and Destiny Martin

Nikiski Boys Top 8 Performances: Saturday

Bryan McCollum placed sixth in the 200M

Hunter Greene finished sixth in shot put
