The Kenai Kardinals hockey team, following a three-game sweep of the Peninsula Ice Challenge in the opening weekend of high school hockey, open Railbelt Conference play with a Friday night contest in Homer against the Homer Mariners. The game time scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Kenai vs Homer game will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM and streamed live at radiokenai.com.
Kenai defeated Tri-Valley, Delta and SoHi for the Peninsula Ice Challenge trophy.
The Homer Mariners opened the regular season with a pair of games against the Kodiak Bears in Homer. Kodiak joins the Railbelt Conference for the first time in 2021-22. The Mariners downed Kodiak 7-2 on Thursday and 7-0 on Friday.
