If the Crayola crayon box-esque array of colors in the trees and the brisk mornings are not evidence enough that Fall has officially hit the Kenai, this weekend will give the City of Kenai an opportunity to solidify the area’s seasonal spirit with their 5th Annual Fall Pumpkin Festival. It takes place on Saturday, October 10 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Brittany Brown, Executive Director of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce: “We’ve partnered with the City and Old Town Marketplace to host the 5th Annual Fall Pumpkin Festival! So, cross our fingers that it’ll be pretty warm and we’ll have some good weather out there. It’ll be taking place in Old Town starting at 11:00 a.m. and running through ’til 3:00 p.m. So, there will be food trucks, vendors, and music.”
She also discussed Scarecrow Alley, a project with the aim for business to have fun and educate the community about the variety of businesses of Kenai: “We are gonna be hosting Scarecrow Alley in front of the Kenai Visitors Center, where we’re trying to reach out to businesses to participate – to bring their scarecrows, a scarecrow that may represent their business, and put it up for the community to see during the event. So, we’ll be showcasing that here in front of the Visitors Center, and setup will be at 10:00 a.m. Again, we encourage folks who are interested in participating in the Fall Festival to give us a call here at the Kenai Chamber.”
