The Kenai Kardinals hosted the Soldotna Stars in Northern Lights Conference basketball action on Tuesday at Kenai Central High School.
The Kenai girls defeated SoHi 38-25, pulling away in the second quarter by holding the Stars scoreless for eight minutes. Hannah Drury lead Kenai with 16 points; Sylvia Tuasaula scored eight for the Stars.
The SoHi boys held off Kenai for a 57-49 NLC victory over the Kards. Kenai lead 31-30 at the half and the Stars held a two-point lead after three quarters. SoHi hit nine straight free throws in the final quarter to secure the victory. SoHi hit six three-point shots in the game, including five in the first half.
The SoHi boys host Bethel on Wednesday for a varsity game set for a 5:30 p.m. start. Follow the Stars on ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com.
