Kenai Police arrested a Kenai man last week after police discovered that he convinced a minor to send him explicit images.

On April 18th, the KPD discovered that 57-year-old Ronald Morris had been using the social media app, known as Snapchat, to send and receive sexual images and messages with a minor over the course of two days.

According to the charging documents, police discovered that Morris purchased marijuana and a vape for the minor in question.

Within the affidavit, the Kenai Police Department was able to confirm the messages and photos by looking through the minor’s phone.

While looking through the phone, the KPD also found video recordings from a Kenai-area park and a local dispensary, which showed Morris purchasing the marijuana and then later meeting with the minor.

Morris did tell police that he knowingly was aware of the individual’s age and continued to communicate with them and provide them marijuana joints despite the fact that they were a minor.
According to a dispatch from Kenai Police, Morris was charged with unlawful exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor, and third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

Morris was arraigned on Friday and is next scheduled to appear in court on May 6.
