Absentee and question ballots have been totaled for the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly candidates.

Past Assembly Member Gary Knopp will represent K-Beach’s District 1, barely taking the seat with Dr. David Wartinbee four votes behind him. (Knopp: 269 votes – 30.26%) (Wartinbee: 265 – 29.81%)

Wartinbee saw strong support in the absentee vote, garnering nine votes more than Knopp, however that was not enough to break Knopp’s 13 vote lead.
