The Kenai Peninsula Borough met Tuesday, October 11th to finalize and swear in the newest, and returning elected members to the Borough Assembly.
During the meeting, swearing in these new members and incumbent members was listed as Resolution 2023-064.
Assembly President Johnson asked all the newly and incumbent runners to the front of the floor, and asked city clerk to swear in the members.
Peter Micciche was re-elected for another term as the mayor unopposed.
Incumbent Bill Elam was elected for another term. Elam represents District 5, Sterling, and beat out his opponent Nissa Savage.
Incumbent Peter Ribbens was able to retain his seat as the representative for District 3, Nikiski. He won against his opponent Adam Bertoldo.
Former borough assembly member Kelly Cooper won against her opponent Heath Smith. She will be representing District 8, Homer and replaced Lane Chesley.
Ryan Tunseth ran unopposed and won his position on the assembly for District 2, Kenai. Incumbent Richard Derkevorkian chose not to run for reelection.
After the members were sworn in, the members of the assembly cheered and thank everyone for their time for running for the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
