Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly To Meet This Evening @ 6

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly will meet at their regularly scheduled meeting this evening at the Borough Assembly Chambers in Soldotna.

 

The meeting will be held virtually online through the Zoom platform as well as in-person from the Betty J. Glick Assembly Chambers, Borough Administration Building with COVID-19 mitigation protocols being observed.

 

There will be two presentations tonight, one of them will be a Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Quarterly Report. The other presentation will be from former Homer Rep. Paul Seaton on Vitamin D and COVID-19.

 

On the consent agenda, an ordinance for introduction would amend KPB 16.04, which is the establishment of service areas to establish residency requirements for appointed service area board members. The ordinance for introduction is sponsored by Borough Mayor Charlie Pierce with a hearing scheduled for March 2, 2021.

 

Under the pending legislation, Ordinance 2020-19-17, which authorizes the acquisition of property located on Hohe Street in Homer on behalf of South Peninsula Hospital, appropriating $315,000 from the South Peninsula Hospital Plant Replacement and Expansion Fund for the purchase and authorizing an amendment to the hospital operating agreement with a hearing scheduled for February 16, 2021.
