Kenai Peninsula Borough’s Relief Grants: Round II, Kicking Off Mid-September

Small Businesses and Nonprofits residing in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, outside of city boundaries, are nearing the second round of grant opportunities, if they were impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Late last month, 470 small businesses, non-profits, and commercial fishing people were mailed checks from the first round of grants, totaling over $6 million.

 

For those who missed the first round, KPB advises against being discouraged, as the second round will open September 14 at 8:00 a.m., lasting until September 25 at 5:00 p.m.

 

An applicant business or nonprofit must be physically located within the Borough, but not within the boundaries of the incorporated cities (Homer, Kachemak City, Kenai, Seldovia, Seward, and Soldotna). Interested parties may not submit an application if they received a Borough Coronavirus Relief Fund grant through the first round of grants distributed in August.

 

However, eligible applicants may apply for a Borough CRF grant regardless of whether they have applied for, or have obtained, any other COVID-19 related financial assistance. Current commercial fish permit holders within Borough waters may also be eligible to apply.
