Three Kenai Peninsula Representatives have signed a letter urging the Alaska Attorney General to join the State of Texas in their lawsuit against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the United States Supreme Court, citing election integrity.
Representative Ben Carpenter (HD 29), Representative-elect Ron Gillham (HD 30) and Representative Sarah Vance (HD 31) are calling on the state to support a lawsuit filed by Texas, that alleges elections in the battleground states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin weren’t conducted properly.
They say recent action by the state judicial branch, with the effect of allowing absentee ballots to be accepted without a witness signature goes against state law, saying that the judicial branch has no constitutional authority to change state law in this matter. They question the legitimacy of the election results, saying that the court’s actions erodes the integrity of future elections if the policy remains in effect.
KSRM has reached out to all three representatives for comment.
