An older black Suburban ran from Kenai Police Thursday night, eventually losing control on the back side of K-Beach and sending the driver and sole occupant to the hospital.
The Kenai Police Department received several calls reporting an erratic driver on Bridge Access Road heading towards K-Beach.
Witnesses saw the vehicle swerving between the traffic lines and at one point leaving the road way in front of the Carlile Trucking, demolishing a state information sign, and then continuing to drive through the parking lot.
Kenai Police Chief Gus Sandahl says officers caught up to the Suburban on K-Beach Road heading towards Kasilof, where the driver failed to stop when directed to.
The vehicle lost control and witnesses reported it appeared to have rolled into the ditch.
Sandahl says the male driver and sole occupant was injured and transported to the hospital.
The case is still under investigation.
