On Saturday, October 21, at approximately 5:13PM the Kenai Police Department received a report that there was a body on the beach near the Kenai River close to Cook Avenue.
The body was subsequently identified as Austin Struthers, age 32, of Kenai. It is apparent, after investigation, that Struthers fell from the top of the bluff which is approximately 75 feet high in that area.
There is no information at this point to suggest that there was foul play involved.
It is believed that alcohol may have been a factor.
The investigation is ongoing, including the body being transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Next of kin have been notified.
