The 27th Annual Kenai River Festival returns this Friday at 5pm with free, family fun event for everyone to celebrate the Kenai River.
Jack Sinclair, Executive Director of the Kenai Watershed Forum say the festival offer many hands on educational booths…
Sinclair: “There’s going to be a lot of educational booths provided by an assortment of educational groups throughout the community, that are going to be there to. So, there are lots of events for the kids to be part of.”
The Kenai River Festival also offers many artisan and food vendors.
Sinclair: “We have about 45 artisan booths this year, which is probably the all time high for the Alaska artisan market we have. We’ll 14 food vendors also, which is pretty much as high as we have ever gone too. There’s going to be a lot of variety for everyone to choose from.”
New this year the festival will feature a Beer and Wine Garden, featuring local brews and wine from Alaska Berries. Festival attendees can enjoy live music through the weekend. Sinclair reminds attendees that the festival is pet-free.
Free Parking is available at the Soldotna Creek Park, in front of the Aspen Hotel, with overflow parking at Walgreens and the lot behind the Tesoro gas station in Soldotna.
The festival is June 10-12 in Soldotna Creek Park. Friday 5-10pm. Saturday the Run for the River is at 8am, but the festival itself opens from 11am-11pm. Sunday’s hours are 11am-6pm.
