After Kenai and SoHi scored seven combined goals in the third period of the championship game at the 2021 Peninsula Ice Challenge; the Kenai Kardinals score an overtime goal with 2:52 remaining to down the Stars 6-5 on the Kardinals home ice at the Kenai Multipurpose Facility on Saturday night.
Avery Martin scored the game-winner for the Kardinals.

Following a scoreless first period, Kenai’s Jacob Wait opened the scoring and SoHi’s Boone Theiler and Gehret Medcoff staked the Stars to a 2-1 lead after two periods.
The third period featured seven goals in regulation time. Daniel Sheldon tied the game at 2-2 with a Kenai goal; Aiden Burcham answered for SoHi. 3-2 Stars. Kenai quickly scored twice with goals by Jacob Begich and Landen Cialek. SoHi followed with a Silas Larsen goal; SoHi 4-Kenai 4.
