The Kenai City Council enacted an ordinance to establish the Kenai Senior Center Cone Memorial Trust and direct all proceeds received from the Tamara Diane Cone Testamentary Trust as a Residual Beneficiary.

Kenai City Mayor Brian Gabriel commented on his appreciation of the Cone Family;

“The generosity of the Cone Family and not only did they provide this bequeathment to the city. But also, they were very involved with local politics, Sort of the old guard, I guess you could say of the City of Kenai.  And certainly, appreciate the efforts that they did to move our city forward.”

The trust was established by Chester and Mavis Cone for the benefit of their daughter Tamara Cone who passed earlier this year. The City was named as a 1/3 beneficiary of any remaining trust assets. It is Chester and Mavis’ wishes to leave these funds to the Kenai Senior Center ensuring lasting benefits to future generations of Kenai residents.

Chester Cone was actively involved in the founding of the City of Kenai.
