The Kenai Kardinal soccer teams produced a pair of victories over the Soldotna Stars on Tuesday in non-conference contests at KCHS. Early season games are recorded as non-conference when the two teams are scheduled to meet later in the season. The Kards and Stars face-off in Northern Lights Conference games on May 2nd at Soldotna High School.
Kenai Girls 7 – SoHi 2
The Kardinal girls offense exploded for seven goals against the Stars on Tuesday, lead by Lara Creighton and Cassi Holmes each scoring two goals. Single Kenai goals were scored by Savannah Clark, Paulyne Catacutan, and Samantha Morse. Kenai scored seven goals on only 13 shots on goal. SoHi goals were recorded by Ella Stanga and Abi Tuttle.
Kenai Boys 4 – SoHi 1
The Kardinal boys built a 3-0 lead before allowing SoHi’s lone goal in the Kenai boys 4-1 victory over the Soldotna Stars at KCHS on Tuesday. Kenai lead 3-0 on a pair of Zack Tuttle goals and a single goal by Luke Beiser. SoHi’s only tally came off the foot of Tanner Craig. Kenai’s Damien Redder capped the scoring with a final Kenai goal.
