Kenai & SoHi Eliminated At Southcentral Baseball Tournament

The Kenai Kardinal and Soldotna Star baseball teams were eliminated on Friday, day two of the Southcentral Conference Baseball Championships.  The Homer Mariners advance into Saturday’s double-back bracket on the strength of victories over SoHi and Palmer.

 

The Wasilla Warriors claim the Southcentral Conference Baseball championship with a victory over Colony on Friday.

Colony, Homer and Grace will battle on Saturday in the double-back rounds for the second automatic berth to the ASAA State Baseball Tournament.

 

Homer 9 – SoHi 3

Homer’s Harrison Metz pitched seven innings and allowed three runs in a 9-3 victory over the Soldotna Stars, handing SoHi its second loss of the tournament.

SoHi’s David Michael scored two of the Stars runs and Tanner Ussing was tagged with the loss pitching five innings for the Stars, allowing four runs on five hits.

 

Grace 26 – Kenai 3  5 innings

The Kardinals were eliminated by Grace suffering its second loss in tournament play.
