2014 was a record year for the Kenai Peninsula Toys for Tots program.
Beech: “Between cash donations and actual physical donations, the toys: record year. We knocked it out of the park.”
That was Johna Beech with the program who said they have collected over 1,300 toys for local families in need.
She said the program has grown exponentially from the first years where they only collected around 600-700 toys.
Beech said there is still time to donate.
Beech: “So we actually wrapped up our official Toys for Tots on December 13, went and picked up the boxes, did the toy buy, took everything over to Salvation Army on Monday night. Fred Meyers still has a toy box there that those toys are coming to Toys for Tots, so if it’s the end of the week and you’re like I really really want to donate, we’re not going to turn you away, stop by Fred Meyers and drop-off there or you can give me a call at the Kenai Chamber and I’ll take your toys from you.”
