A battle of the 2019 3A volleyball state champion Homer Mariners and the 3A state runner-up Kenai Kardinals played out at Kenai Central High School on Friday with the Kardinals celebrating Senior Night and celebrating a three-game sweep of the Mariners.
The Kardinals held-off the Mariners in each game, winning 25-21, 25-22 and 25-21. For the Kardinals, Abby Every recorded 10 kills; Bethany Morris notched 9 kills and Kaylee Lauritsen lead with 20 assists.
Kenai hosted a tri-match on Saturday with Homer and Seward; results will be posted when received.
