Kenai Volleyball Remains Unbeaten: Stars Drop Road Contest To Seward

The Kenai Kardinals continue to roll and the Soldotna Stars stumble in Seward in high school volleyball mid-week games on Tuesday.

 

Kenai 3 – Homer 1

With volleyball play limited to intra-district play, the Kenai Kardinals again found themselves on the court against the Homer Mariners, and again defeated Homer in head-to-head play.

The Kardinals downed the Mariners 22-25, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-13, rallying after a game-one loss.  Bethany Morris recorded 12 kills and Abby Every added 11 kills; Kaylee Lauritsen recorded 34 assists.

The Kardinals remain unbeaten for the regular season.

 

Seward 3 – SoHi 0

The Seward Seahawks shocked the Stars with a three-game sweep in Seward on Tuesday.  The Seahawks, in three close games  25-23, 25-22 and 25-23, held-off SoHi.  In game three, Seward’s Shelby Sieminski closed the game with seven, straight service points.  Morgan Bouschor lead the Stars with 11 kills.

 

Kenai hosts SoHi on Friday at KCHS with games beginning at 3 p.m.; varsity at 6:00 p.m.  The Stars travel to Homer for the Homer Jamboree on Saturday.

 

Volleyball Update: The Mat-Su School District has extended the inter-district travel ban for all regular season events.  Volleyball games scheduled between the Valley and the Kenai Peninsula teams (for the next couple of weeks) are cancelled and may/or may not be rescheduled.
