Alaska State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash near mile 71.5 of the Seward Highway going into Turnagain Pass around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday night.

An investigation revealed that 31-year-old Dominique Flenory of Kenai was driving northbound on the highway in a 2001 Cadillac, which lost traction, slid across the centerline on the snow and ice covered pavement and was struck in the passenger door area by a southbound Ford F-150 pickup, according to the online trooper dispatch.

The driver and passenger of the F-150 were transported by EMS for treatment of their injuries.

Flenory was declared deceased at the scene. Next of kin was notified. Flenory’s body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage.

The highway was temporarily closed when the crash happened while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
