A 24-year-old Kenai woman was hospitalized for a DUI-related crash on Funny River Road Sunday night around 10:30 p.m., according to the Alaska State Trooper dispatch.
A Soldotna Alaska State Trooper K-9 team responded to a report of a single vehicle crash at mile 7 on Funny River Road. An investigation at the scene of the incident revealed that a 2010 green Toyota Corolla was operated by Shayna Mckinley of Kenai.
A DUI investigation was conducted. Mckinley is believed to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of controlled substances. Due to the extent of her injuries, Mckinley was transported to, and held at, Central Peninsula Hospital. The specifics of her injuries is unknown at this time.
Charges of DUI for controlled substances will be filed against Mckinley to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
