On Monday, November 3, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge will close the gate for the season on Mystery Creek Road and the Pipeline Corridor.
KNWR Law Enforcement Supervisor Chris Johnson said they will check the road for unattended vehicles before locking the gate and detailed what it’s typically used for.
Johnson: “It’s access to the Mystery Creek area, Chikaloon, for hunting grouse and water fowl and during moose season they hunt back there.”
He said the road is still open to anyone who wants to use it on foot but the changing seasons makes the road unpredictable for vehicles.
