Candidates for the KPB Assembly Kenai Seat appeared on a KSRM special debate yesterday where they outlined their top priorities if elected.

 

Blaine Gilman…

Gilman: “The first issue is planning for the impact of the potential LNG plant in Nikiski, the second issue is the debate about funding schools, which I believe should be funded with a cap.”

 

Gilman said his third issue would be the addressing the hospital.

Thompson: “The land grab that is the anadromous stream ordinance and I think probably something that it’s debatable as to whether it’s a borough issue I consider it a borough issue but there’s some folks right around the corner here on K-Beach that are really experiencing some problems and probably could use at least some borough facilitated discussion to assist.”

 

The seat of District 2 will be decided by voters in the municipal election October 7.
