The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s regularly scheduled monthly meeting is Monday, November 7th at 6 p.m. in the Betty J. Glick Assembly Chambers 144 N. Binkley Street, Soldotna Alaska.
The policy revision regarding Recognition of Religious Beliefs and Customs will have its first reading and will be open for public comment; as will the proposals for charter school policy and guidelines.
Superintendent Clayton Holland on the process of moving an item forward.
“First read and then there’s time for comment and discussion. And then the final action item would be the following meeting. Sometimes you get to a point in the discussion and maybe the board decides to kick it back down to a work session or a committee again; depending on there’s something new or something to consider. We (board) always hope to have most of that done during the work session and then tighter policy by the time it gets to the business meeting.”
Agenda items include on the consent agenda the approval of assorted teacher contracts and the approval of revisions to the district’s gaming permit policy.
