The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District has put out a survey recently that seeks feedback from alumni who have graduated from 2010 to 2021 to help shape the district’s future. The survey wants to learn from alumni experiences who graduated to ensure that the district’s academic and career-focused programs provide the best possible preparation for graduates.

Pegge Erkeneff, Director of Communications, Community and Government Relations for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District:

“This time we’re looking at asking anybody who’s graduated from a KPBSD school in the last ten years to complete a survey. The questions are ‘where are you now’ and ‘how well did KPBSD prepare you for your future’? Maybe that was going to college. Maybe that was going straight into working in the trades because you’ve got certifications. Maybe you’ve taken another path. We’re trying to get better. We’re trying to learn from your experiences. The survey is open till Friday. I encourage anybody to please share your thoughts, positive, what we can improve upon, we need to hear from you. The other thing about the survey is that Hanover is doing the survey. The school district will never hear see individual responses. They’re handling all the survey results and will provide a complete synopsis afterwards.”

Erkeneff speaks on what the district does with those results:

“We’re always looking at improvement and how can we best meet the needs of our learners, but we’re also stepping into the time period where in the next year we’re putting together a new five-year strategic plan. Responses will help shape that. We ask people to really be honest to help us learn, tell us what worked well and what we can do better. That will be helpful information and input into the design of the new strategic plan carrying us forward for five more years.”

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District states that the responses will be kept completely anonymous and no identifying information will be provided to the school district.
