The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s school board has invited public input as they search for the next superintendent of schools.

The position was opened to both national and in-state applications as of January 16 and Pegge Erkeneff with the district said it will accept applications through February 16.

Erkeneff: “The school board is asking for the community to give input on what their top attributes or qualities would be in our superintendent of schools as well as any comments. People don’t need to share their names, there is an online input forum, again it’s open till February 9th.”

The board members have the sole responsibility for the selection of candidates, final interviews, and selection of the superintendent but want to consider views and suggestions from the community.
