Only three days remain to donate to the 31st Annual Seward Polar Bear Jump happening January 16 in Seward.

Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent Sean Dusek says he will be plunging into Resurrection Bay this Saturday for the event.

Dusek: “[That’s] a part of the American Cancer Society fundraiser. So if you want to get some good pictures of me getting cold and wet that would be a good opportunity.”

Each year the fundraiser collects donations to help in the Society’s fight to end cancer, specifically by investing in research of the disease as well as providing services and help for people facing cancer.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the organization’s website showed over 20 teams of over 86 participants had signed up and already raised over $82,600.
