Today is Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent Dr. Steve Atwater’s last day at the district.
Dr. Atwater announced his resignation August 4, saying he would stay at his current position until December 1, after which he would transition to a position at University of Alaska.
Dr. Atwater:”I’m going up to the University of Alaska statewide, a lot of people think that’s UAA but it’s not it’s UA statewide, which is based in Fairbanks and I’ll be working as the Associate of Vice President of Academic Affairs and that’ll be helping to more tightly align K-12 at the University.”
Assistant Superintendent Sean Dusek was named as Atwater’s replacement for the time being but said the permanent position not been decided.
Dusek: “Just depending upon how the whole process works, there’s four points in there, and if I’m not selected for the permanent position, I’d be coming back as the Assistant Superintendent.”
