Kenai Peninsula College Students will return to the four peninsula campuses on Monday, August 24.

Those students will be adding to the 30% growth of the campuses over the past five years.

KPC Director Gary Turner…

Turner: “When you compare fall of ’14 to fall of ’13 we grew about seven and a half percent. This past spring, we were actually about even, broke about even.”

Final enrollment numbers for this semester are not available because registration is still open.

Advancement Program Manager Suzie Kendrick said KPC’s student services determined that unfamiliar pupils gain more from the new student orientation if it is a few weeks after the first day of school.

Kendrick: “Where students have a little bit more of an understanding about how the college is run they can get more out of having an orientation that they now call Setup for Success.  They bring together faculty, all of the auxiliary departments, Res-Life folks, all in one place and invite new students or students who would like more information about the college to come to this event.”

Setup for Success at the Kenai River Campus will begin at 11 am on September 8.
