The 16th annual Industry Outlook Forum in Kenai wrapped up last Friday.
Despite a couple challenges, this year’s event went smoothly according to Director Rick Roeske with the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District, the organizer of the forum.
Roeske: “We actually ran into a problem this year, we had some postal issues and so when we called [speakers] to confirm as a follow up, they hadn’t received their letters.”
The event also had troubles keeping the speakers that had already been confirmed when Governor Bill Walker froze all unneeded travel costs for state officials.
Roeske says KPEDD is considering a new venue and changing the format for 2017’s event.
Roeske: “Next year, we want to change up the format, we want to go to a Kenai Peninsula Economic Outlook, instead of the Industry Forum, and we’ll inform you later when we get a more finalized plan.”
KPEDD hopes to have the agenda for next year’s event up on their website by this December.
