There are only four days left to register a team for the first ever Kenai Young Professional Dodgeball Tournament that will be held on March 26th.
Kenai Chamber of Commerce Programs Coordinator Pamela Parker says there are two goals for the event.
Parker: “The first one is the social aspect, just getting local professionals together for a fun day of dodgeball. And the second one is to raise money for our new program the Kenai Future Professionals that will be starting in April and that program will be run in the high schools to hopefully develop high school students into future professionals in the area.”
The new program will see members of Kenai Young Professionals mentor high school students as a way to encourage future professionals to stay, live, and work here on the Kenai Peninsula after graduation.
The registration deadline for the dodgeball tournament is March 12.
Parker: “So the entry fee is $100 for a team of four and that will include breakfast and lunch on the day of and of course the chance to compete to be the greatest dodgeball team in the Kenai area for at least a year.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, three teams were signed up.
Registrations can be found on the Kenai Young Professionals Facebook page or Kenai Chamber of Commerce’s website. You can also visit the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center in Kenai to pick up a copy.
