The So-Cal Prep Holiday Classic for the Soldotna Lady Stars basketball team has proven to be a vacation through three games in San Diego.
The SoHi girls improved to 3-0 in tournament play with a 67-16 dismantling of Patrick Henry High School on Saturday.
The SoHi girls play West Hills on Monday for the Prep Bracket championship. Game time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Pacific time at West Hills High School. West Hills fell 37-35 to Gladstone, Oregon on Friday: The Stars defeated Gladstone 59-34 to open play in the Prep Bracket.
The 2019 So-Cal Holiday Prep Classic features eight divisions from Premier (highest level) to Prep. The Lady Stars are competing in the Prep Division.

“The So Cal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego is the largest in-season high school girls’ basketball tournament in the Western Region. Each year more and more teams from around the United States compete in the event.
The tournament showcases top teams in the nation, along with the most powerful teams from California , and bordering states. The So Cal Holiday Prep Classic began 16 years ago with only 8 teams. Over the years the tournament has grown to over 70 teams coming from as far as Washington, Pennsylvania , Texas , British Columbia, Nevada, Maryland , Florida, Kentucky and Arizona . We have had nationally ranked teams such as Bishops Gorman, Great Oak, Clovis West, Canyon, Canyon Springs, La Jolla Country Day, Etiwanda, Santa Ana Mater Dei, Bishops, Mt. Miguel, Villa Maria Academy, Garces Memorial, Mercy Academy, Oakridge, Rosary Academy, Long Beach Poly and Mission Prep to name a few.
What makes this tournament unique is the fact that we have numerous varsity divisions playing against similar teams abilities from the Premier Division down to the Prep Division.”
