The Alaska Department of Transportation reported a landslide effecting the Sterling Highway from mile post 49 to 50 in Cooper Landing early Friday evening at approximately 4:55pm.
The Sterling Highway remains open to traffic while the clearing is in progress. DOT advises drivers to be aware of the rough gravel surface, obstructions and maintenance equipment on the roadway, to use caution while traveling through the area, to expect delays, and not to stop in the impacted area.
