Power has been restored to about 1,000 Soldotna residents’, crews continue to work.
Original report:
A broken power pole at Mile 5 of the Kenai Spur Highway has left a large area of Soldotna without power.
Homer Electric Association’s Joe Gallagher…
Gallagher: “This afternoon just before 4pm we had a report of a broken power pole at Mile 5 of the Kenai Spur Hwy and this has resulted in a power outage for a good portion of the Soldotna area. At this time we have about 1,200 HEA members in Soldotna without power and we do have a crew responding and they will be working to make repairs.”
Crews are arriving on scene but do not have an estimate yet of when power might be restored.
That outage has taken our KSLD 1140 AM and KKIS 96.5 FM stations off the air.
