Late Rally Leads To Kenai Baseball Walk-Off Win Over SoHi

A two RBI, walk-off single by Kenai’s Daniel Steffensen pushed the Kenai Kardinal baseball team past the Soldotna Stars in the bottom of the seventh inning in an 11-10 Kenai victory in Southcentral Conference baseball on Tuesday at Kenai.

 

The Kardinals scored seven runs in the seventh inning to down the Stars; Kenai producing seven runs on five hits, two walks and two hit batters.

Kenai tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning; SoHi built a 10-4 lead after into the bottom of the seventh inning.  The winning hit by Steffensen was his second at-bat of the inning, as the Kards batted through the lineup for seven runs and the conference victory.

Steffensen was 3 for 5 with three RBIs; Charlie Chamberlain was 2 for 4 with two RBIs; Gabe Joanis was 2 for 3

Kenai used four pitchers, combining for 10 walks.

SoHi

Sage Cruz hit a solo home run, went 2 for 3 and recorded two RBI

SoHi starting pitcher Derrick Jones went six innings and allowed four runs;
