Legion All-Star Game Set For Tuesday: Twins Open Matson Invitational On Thursday

The Alaska American Legion baseball season moves into post-season tournament formats with the top eight teams in Alaska advancing to the 2021  state championship bracket and the remaining teams seeded into the Matson Invitational baseball tournament.

 

Matson Invitational

The Kenai Post 20 Twins, based on a 4-12 league record, will open the Matson Invitational against North Pole (5-11) on Thursday, July 22 at Bartlett High School.

The bracket-format, double-elimination Matson Invitational continues play through Championship Tuesday on July 27th.  Teams entered into the Matson Invitational include: Bartlett, Wasilla, West, East, Fairbanks, North Pole and Kenai.

A win for Post 20 and the Twins advance to a 2:15 p.m. game on Friday; a loss and the Twins play at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Alaska Legion State Tournament

The Alaska American Legion State Baseball League State Tournament, featuring the top eight teams in Alaska, opens Thursday, July 22 with pool play pairings including #1 South vs #5 Ketchikan and #2 Service vs #6 Eagle River.

Alaska Legion All-Star Game

The 2021 Alaska American Legion All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20th at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage with 7 p.m. game time.

Players from throughout the state will compete divided between the American and National divisions.

The Post 20 Twins will be represented on the National Division roster by Sam Berry, Daltyn Deborski, and Harrison Metz.
