Lemonade Day last Saturday registered 50 stands across Kenai and Soldotna.
Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Events Coordinator Andy Rash said many local businesses stepped in to help the first-time entrepreneurs…
“All those businesses are extremely supportive of lemonade stands and I think it boosts their confidences to know that they have the support of the community.”
8-year-old Madelyn Ross set up her stand at the Kenai Air Fair.
Ross: “At Home Depot you can make a little stand, my dad did most of the work.”
There was also some father-daughter bonding over how to spend the profits…
Ross: “Save a little and maybe share, or my dad said we could pay some of it for the house but I doubt it.”
Through it all, Madelyn kept her eye on the prize…
Ross: “It’s fun. My favorite part is at the end when I get to drink all the lemonade that’s left and when I get to eat all the cookies that’s left.”
