The Levitt AMP Soldotna Music Series is officially scheduled to kick off on Wednesday evening at Soldotna Creek Park. The music series aims to provide free public concerts throughout the summer from June 2nd to August 25th featuring a beer and wine garden as well as food vendors. The music series is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each Wednesday evening.
Shannon Davis, Executive Director for the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce spoke to KSRM says that the market is happening from 11:00 on through the rest of the day, “At 6:00, we’ll be opening with Shonathin Hoskins, we are really kicking things off with the Levitt AMP Soldotna Music Series with Zen Trembles at 7:00. Every one of the bands that will be laying this summer is linked on the Facebook page. I know that sometimes people get a little bit frustrated when they’re listening to the headliners that they haven’t heard their music before. Just go on that Facebook page, check them out.”
Davis explained how the past Wednesday’s Music In The Park went, “We did move the beer garden this year after many conversations with the city of Soldotna just kind of trying to figure out how we can tweak things. we’re going to be working with Paul Wright with Bassline Sounds to make sure that everybody that is in that beer garden can hear well. So we may be tweaking the beer garden a little bit to get it a little bit closer to the stage and then also working with Paul to make sure we’ve got the speakers that we need in the right places so that nobody’s tripping over them so that everybody can hear. Also, we had a very small area set aside for people that were more comfortable wearing masks. We did, throughout the night, just have a handful of people but I don’t think that that interrupted the flow of things so it was nice to be inclusive of people that were more comfortable still being a little bit more on the cautious side, but, for the most part, there was plenty of room in the park for everybody who wanted to be there.”
