The City of Soldotna will be hosting the Levitt AMP music series in 2022. Through their website, Levitt AMP’s COVID-19 response states that there remains a number of unknowns pertaining to the impact of COVID-19 on public gatherings across the country. In light of this uncertainty, all 2021 Levitt AMP grantees will receive a 2022 Levitt AMP grant award of $25,000 regardless of whether they are able to present their in-person music series.
Executive Director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, Shannon Davis told KSRM:
“We are very pleased to let everybody know that we will be having the Levitt AMP series again next year. The Levitt Foundation has already determined that they are going to roll all of the grants from this year over again until next year because some of our communities weren’t actually able to hold their concerts this year. We’re benefiting from that and we have a lot of gratitude to the Levitt Foundation for how flexible they’ve been and how committed they are to all of their communities. We’re definitely a beneficiary of that. This is two years in a row where we don’t have to go through the process of applying for the grant or doing the online voting and those kinds of things. It just lets us concentrate a little bit more on making this series even better instead of having to wonder if we’re going to receive it or not.”
It’s also worth mentioning that all 2020 Levitt AMP winners had postponed their in-person Levitt AMP Music Series until 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of this announcement, the Levitt Foundation will reopen applications in 2022 for the 2023 grant cycle.
Visit Soldotna presented the second Levitt AMP Soldotna Music Series in Soldotna Creek Park from June through August this year. This year’s series focused on strengthening the relationships between Soldotna’s diverse cultural communities and fostering further diversity and inclusivity.
