Lieutenant Governor Kevin Meyer joined KSRM’s Bird’s Eye View on Monday where he spent much of his time defending the safety and sanctity of the 2020 election process in Alaska. Not only did he say that there’s no evidence of foul play in Alaska, but he also reassured listeners regarding the close race for Ballot Measure 2.

With regards to Ballot Measure 2: “We tried to keep it as open and transparent as possible. I know we had a lot of people down here in Juneau watching as we did an unprecedented hand-count of the statewide Ballot Measure 2.”

Another name that became part of political nomenclature is Dominion, as in Dominion Voting Systems, the supplier of voting systems and software to many states in the nation: “There’s a lot of question about the Dominion machines and whether they worked accurately, fairly. A lot of this was, I think, brought to the attention of all of the United States simply because the swing states of Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, they all used the Dominion machines and so I think Dominion probably got blamed for the President [Trump] not winning. As far as I’ve heard, they haven’t found anything wrong with their machines. We have found nothing wrong with our machines, and like I said, fortunately we have paper ballots so we were able to do several audits, just to make sure that the machines were working properly and accurately.”

He added: “I didn’t even know this as a legislator for 18 years but we automatically, after every election, we do a recount of one precinct of every district – just to, again, make sure that it matches the total we’re getting from the machines. Another thing we do is – the machine is tested by a bipartisan board before they’re even deployed out into the field, and then they’re tested again when they come back.”
